RMI TITANIUM COMPANY ELECTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT

AND TREASURER

Niles, Ohio - RMI Titanium Company (NYSE; RTI) announced today that Lawrence W. Jacobs (42) has been elected Vice President & Treasurer effective March 23,1998. Mr. Jacobs had been Senior Vice President of PNC Bank, N.A. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he was the segment executive for the bank's metal industry clients.

Prior to joining PNC in 1985, Mr. Jacobs was an account executive with American Standard, Evansville, Indiana. Prior to that he spent five years at U S Steel Corporation, where he began his career. His assignments at U S Steel included operations management at the National-Duquesne Works in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and sales at both its Cincinnati and Indianapolis sales offices.

Mr. Jacobs has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA, both from Lehigh University.

RMI Titanium Company, headquartered in Niles, Ohio, manufactures titanium mill products, hot-formed and superplastically formed parts, and titanium powder. The Company's products are used for fabricated components in commercial and military aircraft and engines, energy exploration and refining, chemical processing equipment, pulp and paper production facilities, medical implants and consumer goods.
