BURKHART TO LEAVE RTI INTERNATIONAL METALS POST
Niles, Ohio - RTI International Metals, Inc., (NYSE: RTI). Richard R. Burkhart has announced his intention to step down as Group Vice President at RTI International Metals, Inc. where he headed up RTI's Fabrication and Distribution Group. The Group consists of the Company's businesses that engage in fabricating and distributing products of titanium, other specialty metals and various steels. RTI established the Group in 1998 following several acquisitions, including the purchase of New Century Metals, Inc. (NCM) from Mr. Burkhart and a partner. Units within the Group will now report directly to John H. Odle, Executive Vice President.
Commenting on Mr. Burkhart's departure, Timothy G. Rupert, President and CEO, said, "Mr. Burkhart's forte is acquiring and growing businesses. He played a key role in building New Century Metals into what it was when we purchased it from him in 1998. We asked him to continue to manage NCM along with our other fabrication and distribution units while we integrated them into RTI. He has successfully completed that assignment and, in keeping with his entrepreneurial nature, is off to look for new acquisition opportunities. It's been a pleasure working with him."
RTI International Metals, Inc., headquartered in Niles, Ohio, through its various subsidiaries, manufactures and distributes titanium and specialty metal mill products, and extruded shapes, as well as engineered systems for energy-related markets and environmental engineering services. The Company's products are used for aerospace, industrial and consumer applications.
